OUR HISTORY

SINCE 1999

CDP Accounting was established in Cape Town by Charl du Plessis in 1999 after he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1994. Initially the firm operated under various arrangements within other firms, but in 2006 it was set up as an independent firm. Soon the good honest hard work paid off and the increasing client base caused CDP to trade their home office practice for a house in Melkbosstrand in 2008. It still serves as the hub of the firm. However, in only a few years, the firm branched out and established office in Bellville, currently headed up by Eduard Nel (Professional Accountant (SA)).
Our latest developments include an office in East London under the leadership of Spokazi Jojo (Professional Accountant (SA)).
From the start our core values have been aligned with those of the professional societies (SAICA and SAIPA) that we belong to, and is underpinned by unflinching ethical integrity that we continuously strive to uphold.

OUR CLIENTS

At CDP we serve a variety of clients; but due to the nature of our business, and the level of commitment we invest in each of our client-partnerships, it is important for us to be able to do business with clients who have a similar set of values. We pride ourselves in the longstanding relationships we have built with our clients over the years and we always strive for a win-win value for money partnership scenario.

In bringing you on board as a partner-client we would follow our ABC of client engagement.

1. ADHERENCE

If there is not a shared value system, we would not take on a new client – no matter the potential financial gain. We live by the mantra of doing the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do. (And we love our home cooked meals over the à la carte menu at Pollsmoor).

2. BUSINESS SENSE

If we are going to be too great a strain on their finances we would refrain from taking on a new client. We do several pro-bono projects for the right reasons but we unfortunately need to pay the bills at the end of the month too.

3. COMPETENCE

If we are not able to fulfil the need of an organization, we will also be truthful and not take on the business – rather than biting off more than we can chew and losing existing clientele in the meantime.
